The night was dark, or, better to say, it would be dark if there weren't any street lights. Missy sat under one of them, looking down the street and waiting for Slipstream.
She was wondering what is her new boss like. So far she heard only nice things about him and bad things about his brother. Well, it seemed that her life from now on is going to be much more interesting than before. Missy laid down and sighed. She didn't like big changes but she would do anything for a nice and warm home.

((you should put in your title that you want Hadrian to join.))
Josephine lifted her head and gazed at her sleeping owner. Humans, they're so cute in sleep. She gently got up from her fluffy bed and stood on her hind legs. She put her front paws on her owner's bed and kissed her face.
She padded down the stairs and walked into the kitchen. Jospehine took a drink of water out of her bowl then turned for the door. Missy will meet Hadrian tonight...she trotted to the doggie door and slid out.
The tan collie trotted along until she saw the little dog under a streetlight. She barked in greeting. "Hey Tramp Lady," she said with a smile, "ready to meet our boss?" She motioned with her head for Missy to follow.
Josephine led her to The Fort and gasped when she saw the state it was in. Oh, how embarrassing! The Fort was in disarray, with socks, chew toys, and kibble strewn all over the floor. I hope she hasn't seen it yet... "Hang on a sec..." She shut the rickety door and started putting the objects in their correct places. No doubt Missy would be able to hear banging and thudding as some objects protested where the neat freak put them. When it was done, she opened the door. "Sorry about that. Come on in." Suddenly, a heavy bone fell on her head and knocked her down. "Ow..."

Missy sighed, looking to a moth that was fiercely bumping into the light. She couldn't understand how can be those things so stupid? Okay, maybe if you bump one or two times, even three is quite... sensible... But every single second? That was just too much. "Stupid little thing," she said.
Suddenly she heard soft steps, hurrying down the street. Missy turned her sight away from the bumping moth and looked straight into Josephine. Hey Tramp Lady the collie greeted her with a smile.
"Hello again," Missy stood up, wagging her grey-black tail.
ready to meet our boss?
The mutt thought for a second. She noticed that she was quite nervous, feeling some butterflies or better, bees in her tummy. "Well, I guess so," she followed Slipstream, with her tail low.
The collie led her to an unknown building and just when Missy wanted to get in, Slipstream blocked her way. Hang on a sec...
When she shut the rickety door, Missy just blinked with a surprise. What the-? She heard noises from inside like Slipstream was in hurry doing something, probably putting things around.
Sorry about that. Come on in, she opened the door. But again, when Missy just wanted to put one paw inside, something heavy fell on Slipstream's head. Ow...
"Are you okay?" Missy quickly jumped inside. "Do you need help? Say something," she carefully touched her with a paw.

With a heavy sigh, and an almost comically keening yawn for a dog his size, Hadrian rose from his spot. It took a moment for him to work all four legs out of the mass of blankets he was tangled in, thanks to Jack's inability to hold still in his sleep. Finally freeing himself from the sea of blankets, the pitbull glanced towards his owner, who gave an unnattractive snort in his sleep and proceeded to bury his face into the pillow. That man could sleep through a bomb raid, Hadrian would have bet on it.
As quietly and as cautiously as possible, the General hopped down from the bed, his landing earning a soft grunt as his feet hit the carpet. Giving himself a vigorous shake, Hadrian stretched out thoroughly, working the sleep from his stocky limbs before making his way for the back door. Another night to meet new faces, and Hadrian felt himself feeling a little excited. Things were certainly looking very good for the Legionnaires.
Sliding his way through his doggy door, the male was soon crossing the backyard and squeezing through the chainlink fence that enclosed Jack's territory. Once beyond the fence, Hadrian was off and trotting towards the Fort, gray eyes taking in the peaceful night environment while he passed through. It was certainly a quiet night so far, serene and slightly chilled after the sun had gone down. To Hadrian, it was quite relaxing.
Coming upon the Fort, Hadrian was greeted with a somewhat surprising sight. Silver-gray eyes focusing on the two pairs of silhouettes, the male's ears swivled forward to catch what was being said. Within seconds, he recognized Josephine's voice, and the male's normally calm gate stuttered, nearly causing Hadrian to trip over his own paws. Pausing for a long moment, the male took a deep breath as he tried to regain his composure.
Pleased that he had steadied himself enough, the General resumed his approach of the Legionnaires' headquarters. There was an unfamiliar voice in the pair, breathing to life some curiousity in the male's mind. Josephine always seemed to find new faces to bring to the Fort, and they always proved to be wonderful assets. Hadrian was thrilled to have another member, though outwardly he didn't look so enthused.
The scene that had begun to unfold before Hadrian was drawing to a close; he arrived within clear earshot in time to hear a dull thud and Josephine's rather comical 'ow.' Steps quickening, Hadrian was shortly standing in front of the Fort's door, eyes alight with concern for the fallen female. Sniffing around her reather urgently, Hadrian paused for a long moment, staring at Josephine; it didn't seem like she'd acquired any serious injuries... But even still...
"Slipstream?" Perhaps it may seem a bit impersonal to use her codename at a time like this, but they were both on duty; it was their rule. "What happened?"
((Figured I'd hop in in join... but if you'd prefer to have Jo-jo post before me, I'll delete my post and wait. ^_^))

((Yay! *huggles Hadrian*))
"Are you okay? Do you need help? Say something,"
Josephine groaned. "Darn Hadrian with his sloppy masculinity," she grumbled.
"Slipstream?"
Josephine quickle got up, her fur all jumbled up. "Sir!"
"What happened?"
Good, lisence to chew him out. "Hadrian," she said with an irritated tone, "ONCE again, you and the others have succeeded in making The Fort..." she paused to gesture at the organized piles of junk. "A MESS! I am SICK of cleaning up YOUR dirty socks, yet I STILL do it! Why? Because I LIKE a clean work place!" she huffed. "And what do I GET? A BONE, YOUR bone, landing on my HEAD!" She flopped down with a sigh. "My. Head. Hurts!"
She sighed, regaining her composure. "Anyway," she said in a softer tone, "this is Missy, self-given codename Tramp Lady. She's here to learn the ropes of our Legion."

Darn Hadrian with his sloppy masculinity.
Missy couldn't help herself not to giggle when Josephine grumbled. She was probably okay.
Slipstream?
An unknown masculine voice send shivers through her thin body. Missy quickly hid the tail between hind legs and lowered her head. She knew when the authority was in front of her.
Sir! What happened?
Black and grey mutt expected angry growling or something like that, because Slipstream didn't sound very nice before when she had named the boss with a sloppy masculinity. But she was shocked. It wasn't Hadrian who was shouting but Josephine.
Hadrian, ONCE again, you and the others have succeeded in making The Fort...
Missy followed her gesture with a sight. It was true. Can't they make it more clean? She was a stray dog but even she knew what meant tidying.
A MESS! I am SICK of cleaning up YOUR dirty socks, yet I STILL do it! Why? Because I LIKE a clean work place! And what do I GET? A BONE, YOUR bone, landing on my HEAD!
Oh yea. Josephine was angry. Missy knew that something was hiding behind all those kindness. Everyone has to explode sometime. At Missy's surprise she fell down again.
My. Head. Hurts! Anyway, this is Missy, self-given codename Tramp Lady. She's here to learn the ropes of our Legion.
Now, when Josephine introduced her, she didn't know exactly what to say. And she felt so nervous too.
"I'm honored to meet you," she said quietly. "I've heard only good things about you so far and I' willing to follow the rules of the Legion and your orders. But," now she lifted head, looking in front of her but not into Hadrian's eyes, "only if they are reasonable."

((I am -so- sorry you two. I totally forgot to check this thread to see if it was my turn. So sorry to keep you both waiting so long, but thank you for your patience. Won't happen again. XD))
To say that Hadrian was taken aback by Josephine's outburst would have been a gross understatement. There was no single word that could fully describe the look upon the pitbull's features as he stared in stunned silence at Josephine. The male's mouth opened a few times during his peer's ranting, but no sound came out and his jaw worked, giving him the image of a fish once it's been pulled free of the water.
Silver eyes widened slightly, and slightly tattered ears folded back as Hadrian endured the better part of Josephine's rage. He really needed to help keep up the up-keep on the Fort. But then again, no one else but Josephine seemed to mind a little disarray and clutter. But really, for her sake, the least he could do was clean up his own dirty socks... and his bone.
Clearing his throat as Josephine finished, Hadrian lowered his head apologetically and chanced a glance towards the irate female. "I apologize, Slipstream..." he murmured, though his voice was sincere, "I'll be sure to be more... um... Well, I'll try to keep things clean..."
He could never seem to get out a fully intelligent-sounding sentence out of his mouth without bungling it up around the female. That fact in itself only made the General even more tongue-tied when speaking with Josephine. It was a very vicious and demoralizing circle for the male.
"I'm sorry," he said it again, still swimming in guilt, knowing that it was his bone that nearly rendered Josephine unconscious, "Just rest a while..."
Knowing Josephine, that was highly unlikely, but there was always that very slight chance she might just listen to Hadrian. And it was a very slight chance indeed.
However, some of Hadrian's guilt and awkwardness was washed away as Josephine mentioned the name of the other female that she had accompanied to the Fort. Ears finally perking up, the General's head turned to inspect the other hound, nostrils flaring as he sampled the female's scent. Hadrian found himself smiling faintly as the new recruit spoke, and as she finished, the male gave a soft, unobtrusive chuckle.
"And it's a pleasure to meet you, Tramp Lady," he spoke with a different tone than he had with Josephine, one with more confidence and authority. Hopefully, she would not look down on his abilities to lead, simply because he allowed himself to get chewed out for leaving the Fort a mess, but that would come to attention later.
Shifting his position and lowering his head so that his eyes met hers, Hadrian stared at her for a moment. It wasn't an intimidating stare, or the kind that many use to instill fear in others. It was a gentle, searching stare as the male held her gaze in silence, before he spoke up again.
"I can assure you... that our objectives are reasonable. If they do not appeal to you, you have the option to withdraw and let someone else cover for you. You will not be forced to do anything you do not wish too. The Legionnaires are not about that, you have my word."

"I apologize, Slipstream...I'll be sure to be more... um... Well, I'll try to keep things clean..."
Josephine chuckled. "Aww, Hadrian, get your head outta your butt. Why do you always stammer when you speak to me?" She nuzzled his face. "You trust me, don'tcha?"
"Just rest a while..."
Josephine sighed. "I'm fine, Hadrian." Just as she said that, she fell to the ground. She was REALLY dizzy. She got up and lay down on a pillow, her head between her legs.
"I can assure you... that our objectives are reasonable. If they do not appeal to you, you have the option to withdraw and let someone else cover for you. You will not be forced to do anything you do not wish too. The Legionnaires are not about that, you have my word."
Josephine smiled. "That's right. You only do what you feel comfortable doing, it's not a problem to say no."

Missy nodded slowly. That sounded fine. "Is there any need of special training or something like that?" she then asked. ((I can't write longer! Crushes her head against the wall. So sorry guys... .))
