Josephine was more than surprised when no one was at The Fort. She was conecened, for not one chew toy was out of place from last night. No one had come. The border collie whined. Where is Hadrian? What about Sita, Doc, and the others? Has something happened to them?
Josepine walked over to her favorite pillow and lay down. Her human was already asleep in this late hour, so Josephine would wait until someone arrived.
Josephine couldn't help worrying about the others. What if Hadrian had gone to fight Tyrant, or worse, had rejoined The Gang? And then there was Doc. He was so old, anything could have happened. He could have gotten sick, or just died of old age. Trinket could have eaten a poisoned insect. Josephine shook the thoughts out.
"Everyone's fine. They'll come" That was all she could tell herself.

A long sigh had passed Quentin's nonexistent lips. Tonight was boring, he had nothing to read, his master had stayed up to late, and had decided to leave his heat lamp on all night. It was a bother, so he had left to see what the hairy four-leggers were doing. Over bounds across the neighborhood the sticky toed creature slipped into the fort through a tiny hole with a smile.
Only to notice that the female...dog. Tan and white, was seemingly distressed for whatever reason. "What's wrong?" Quentin inquired, while hanging upside down on the ceiling, he hated getting to close to the mammals, carnivores they were, never know when one of them would turn on him and eat him.
He scampered about waiting for a response, from what it sounded like there was some sort of setback. A plan had gone awry? Or was the Female Tan and White just being a bit over dramatic in her musings?

"What's wrong?"
Josephine couldn't help jumping. Where was the voice coming from? She looked up and saw the gecko, chuckling nervously. Great...a reptile.
"Oh, nothing really. I'm just wondering where the others are. That's all." Then Josephine realized that it was pretty chilly outside. The cold-blooded animal mush have been freezing. "Aren't you cold?"
((blerg, still getting used to her.))

"Its cold. But I won't die" Quentin replied simply, could easily be comfortable at room temperature. Sometimes, before he had been moved from his home island...it had gotten as low as 33 degrees! The brown gecko scuttled a little closer, but still managed to stay out of jaw's reach.
"Why?" He wasn't accusing her, but still he had to ask why the Female in Tan and White had cared. He did not really know her. He cocked his head, and licked his eye.

"Its cold. But I won't die. Why?"
Josephine shrugged. "I dunno. If I had to pick, I'd say it's for two reasons: 1)I don't like seeing others die and 2)Frozen, dead animals lower the Feng Shui." Josephine giggled. She had to stop watching home improvement shows with the mother of her human. They were starting to rub off on her.
Josephine lay down and wrapped her tan tail around herself, her blue orbs still fixed on the lizard. He was really quite fascinating. Smiling, she said, "Come on down. I don't bite. My name is Slipstream."

"Yes, but then again, I'd rather be eaten than left as a zen organizer. " The gecko smirked, and padded over closer to the Female, Tan and White, who seemed to call herself Slipstream. "I am Quentin. Gecko, Brown. " Quentin, it seemed had a knack for observation, that was odd, like he was reading mental notes.
"I am sure your friends will come. It is late, dark. Four-legged furry bark creatures don't have the capacity to see in the dark like gecko, bat, or cat." He shrugged, darting his tongue yet again to moisten his eye. "They shall, as you said be fine." Quentin sniffed, and then leapt against the far side of the Fort wall, a good distance....he was showing off. "You live here? "

"I am Quentin. Gecko, Brown. "
Josephine chuckled at his attention to detail. "It's a pleasure to meet you , Quentin."
"I am sure your friends will come. It is late, dark. Four-legged furry bark creatures don't have the capacity to see in the dark like gecko, bat, or cat. They shall, as you said be fine."
Josephine nodded. We see in greyscale all the time, and night makes nearly everything black. Nevertheless, they'll come. She held back a grossed-out sound when Quentin licked his eye, reminding herself that geckos didn't have eyelids.
"You live here? "
"Oh, goodness, no. I live withe my human, Sophie, and her parents. They take good care of me, and Sophie loves to throw the Frisbee for me. I'm very happy with them. No, I joined the Legion so I could keep them safe." Josephine felt she was giving too much information, so she left it at that. Besides, she reassured herself, Quentin seems like a nice guy.

((I wouldn't mind))
"Ah, so you too are kept by the things which call themselves human. Splendid. Dog and cat creatures kept by the upright ape typically aren't as dangerous." He ventured a little closer. "I too live with one. Jeremy, young male, filled with metal..." Quentin had of course been talking about his owner's piercings. But he was sometimes vague like that.
"Slipstream, female, tan and white...what is a frisbee? Why throw it? Is there special amusement in the projection of such idem?" Quentin cocked his head curiously, he was well behaved right now, merely on the merit that Jo knew something he did not. And he wanted to know about it. It was enlightening.

The rope was clenched in her strong jaws as the boxy looking dog crossed over the ground. He entire body wiggled with her tail, tongue lolled out as she panted. To Bailey there wasn't a care in the world. However the young female behind her had anything but play on her mind. Dirt had collected in her thick fur, her own gaze settled forward, seeing her friend prancing around. Ears twitched slightly as the small black mutt lifted her head. She easily recognize Josephine but the other present was a mystery to her.
Midnight prided herself on knowing all the ranked members, but none more than Shield. She desired to prove herself to him to be chosen as one of the Centurians. That was her dream more than anything. To be a warrior and fight for the good of all. She knew she was good enough, no one would convince her otherwise despite her small size.
Bailey looked curiously at her friend, having her own dream of caring for the sick and injured, however she wasn't about to be as earnest about it as her friend.
